In the Batken Region, measures to protect rare animal species will be strengthened

In the Batken region, an increase in measures to protect rare species of animals and preserve biodiversity is planned. These topics were discussed at a meeting attended by the Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision Akyl Toktobaev, the presidential representative in the region Mamyrzhan Rakhimov, as well as the first deputies of district akims, city mayors, and representatives of local authorities.

According to the minister, the protection of rare animals and the maintenance of ecological balance in the region are among the ministry's top priorities.

“The protection of rare species of animals and the ecological sustainability of the region are our priorities. We must unite our efforts to enhance nature conservation and ensure sustainable development in mountainous areas,” emphasized Akyl Toktobaev.

The meeting also focused on the creation of a breeding nursery for the Sivers' argali, for which 9.3 million soms are expected to be allocated. In addition, there are plans to continue the national environmental campaign “Zhashyl Muras,” for which 1 million soms have been allocated.

To enhance monitoring of wildlife conditions, the installation of camera traps is planned in collaboration with international organizations to account for the population of wild animals.

Local authorities and the environmental inspection also plan to strengthen raids against illegal hunting. Plans are underway for scientific research on rare species of animals listed in the Red Book of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The meeting emphasized the need for further cooperation in the field of nature conservation and biodiversity preservation. Specific instructions were given to the heads of government bodies for the implementation of the set tasks.
