This year, all existing landfills in Bishkek will be closed. Bekzhan Sultangaziev, Deputy Director of the Environmental and Technical Supervision Service under the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, announced this at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh committee.
According to him, only one central landfill will operate, which will have a designated area for the storage of construction waste.
“Waste such as concrete cannot be burned. This year, the city hall intends to complete all necessary work,” Sultangaziev added.
