On March 9, at a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Agricultural Policy, Water Resources, Subsoil Use, Ecology, and Environmental Protection, Asel Raimkulova, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, reported on the inclusion of several natural sites in the list of specially protected areas in Kyrgyzstan.

The committee discussed the work of the Ministry of Natural Resources for the year 2025.

According to the deputy minister, the list of new specially protected natural areas includes the Bayboosun Nature Reserve, located in the Ton district of the Issyk-Kul region, the Kötörmö Microreserve, and the Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences.

To enhance the effectiveness of protection and management of natural areas, a smart monitoring system has been implemented in 14 specially protected zones, which will significantly improve control and observation, she added.
