At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on March 4, Ismanali Joroev, a deputy, expressed his concerns about the state of the Karagachevaya Grove, which unfortunately remains undervalued and suffers from litter pollution.

He emphasized that the Karagachevaya Grove is one of the oldest and most valuable green spaces in the capital, founded in 1981 by botanist Fetisov. The total area of this site is 136.6 hectares, but only 40 hectares are well-maintained. It is home to dozens of species of trees and shrubs, including elm, yew, maple, walnut, linden, and poplar. The Komsomol and Pioneer lakes are also located here.

“Unfortunately, this unique area does not receive proper care: only one of the two lakes is operational, the second one is not functioning, and the sanitary conditions of the forest leave much to be desired. In some places, you can find household waste. We often discuss environmental safety and the green economy, but if we cannot preserve such historically and naturally valuable places, we may lose them forever,” he noted.

As solutions, Joroev proposed the following measures:

1. Creation of a municipal program for the restoration of the Karagachevaya Grove, including trimming damaged trees, restoring green plantings, and planting new trees.

2. Complete reconstruction of the irrigation and water supply system, as well as cleaning the lakes for their further use.

3. Gradual transformation of the area into an eco-park, including the organization of safe walking and cycling paths, installation of lighting, and video surveillance.

4. Development of a public-private partnership mechanism for creating small docks, pedestrian bridges, and arranging a recreation area in the style of “Little Venice.”
