The Ministry of Natural Resources and the UN Discussed the Results of Cooperation in 2025 on Climate and Ecology

On February 26, consultations were held at the Ministry of Nature, where the results of the work on the UN Framework Program aimed at sustainable development were discussed, particularly regarding priority III — "Climate, Environment, Energy, and Disaster Risk Management."

According to the information from the press service of the ministry, the meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture Asel Raimkulova, UN Resident Coordinator in Kyrgyzstan Antje Grave, UNDP Resident Representative in the country Alexandra Solovieva, FAO Representative in Kyrgyzstan Oleg Guchgeldiev, UN Women Regional Representative Syed Sadik, and Country Director of the World Food Programme Kojiro Nakai.

During the event, participants discussed the results of joint efforts for the year 2025 aimed at increasing the country's resilience to climate change, improving natural resource management, and developing disaster warning and response systems. Key strategic priorities for 2026–2027 were also identified.

In 2025, comprehensive work was carried out to enhance Kyrgyzstan's adaptive capacity to the impacts of climate change, develop disaster risk management mechanisms, and expand intersectoral partnerships involving government bodies, international organizations, and the private sector.

Participants also emphasized the need to align climate and environmental priorities with the National Development Program of Kyrgyzstan until 2030, as well as to achieve specific measurable results that contribute to improving the well-being of the population and the sustainable development of the country's regions.
