In the Batken region, intensive fruit orchards will be established on 200 hectares.
In the village of Zhany-Zher in the Batken region, a project has been launched aimed at creating a modern irrigation system and developing intensive horticulture over an area of 200 hectares.
According to information from the regional administration, the presidential envoy of Kyrgyzstan in the Batken region, Aibek Shamenov, has familiarized himself with the progress of this project.
As part of this project, water-saving technologies will be implemented for the establishment of modern fruit orchards. Currently, a water storage reservoir is being constructed, which will be able to hold 25,000 cubic meters of water, thus ensuring a stable water supply throughout the irrigation season.
The total amount of funding allocated from the republican budget is 54 million soms, with additional funds provided from the local budget. Local gardeners also plan to invest in the development of horticulture, including the purchase of agricultural machinery and planting materials.
To effectively manage the project, a cooperative will be established to operate the irrigation system and coordinate the work of farmers.
The project also plans to plant high-yielding semi-dwarf varieties of apricots, which will allow for faster harvesting, increased productivity, and significantly reduced water consumption.
The goal of the project is to develop horticulture, create new jobs, increase the income of the population, and ensure the sustainable use of water resources in the Batken region.
