The main source of air pollution in Bishkek is PM2.5.

PM2.5 refers to microscopic particles smaller than 2.5 microns, which are 30 times smaller than a human hair. They include dust, ash, soot, as well as sulfates and nitrates present in the air. These substances contribute to reduced visibility and air pollution typical of large cities.
As of January 31, Bishkek ranks second in the world air quality ranking (5:00 PM).
