A meeting was held at the Ministry of Emergency Situations, where Kanat Karybai uulu, head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry, met with the head of the Asian Development Bank mission, Steven Goldfinch. The ministry's press service reported this on January 29.

At the meeting, the regional technical assistance project of the ADB titled "Enhancing the Preparedness of Asia-Pacific Countries for Sustainable Recovery from Disasters" was officially presented. The project is supported by the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center and the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction.

The project involves participation from several countries in the region, such as Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, and Timor-Leste. During the discussions, the parties considered the goals and objectives of the technical assistance, including issues of institutional readiness for post-disaster recovery, inter-agency coordination, distribution of functions and responsibilities, as well as steps to strengthen national capacity in line with international standards.

From January 28 to 29, a kickoff workshop is taking place in Bishkek, where issues related to enhancing Kyrgyzstan's preparedness for sustainable recovery from disasters are being discussed. This event involves relevant government agencies and international project partners.
