A Student from India Defrauded Fellow Countrymen of 3 Million Som in the City of Osh

In the city of Osh, an Indian citizen has been detained, suspected of committing large-scale fraud, according to information provided by the press service of the city police department.

According to police sources, during the operation "Illegal," officers engaged in combating extremism and illegal migration detained a 21-year-old student, who was placed in a temporary detention facility.

It has been established that the detainee was studying at one of the local universities and was offering her compatriots to exchange Indian rupees for US dollars, but after receiving the money, she failed to fulfill her obligations.

At present, nine victims have approached law enforcement, reporting losses ranging from 35,000 to 243,000 soms. The total amount of damage exceeds 3 million soms.

A criminal case has been initiated against the suspect under Article 209 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, and investigative activities are ongoing.
