In Russia, a Kyrgyz woman was sentenced for attempting to sell drugs online.

The Lenin District Court of the city of Ivanovo in Russia recently sentenced two foreign nationals who were part of an organized group engaged in drug trafficking. This was reported by the regional court.

According to court information, among those convicted were a 31-year-old woman from Kyrgyzstan and a 32-year-old man from Tajikistan.

During the court proceedings, it was established that the woman, who lived in the Moscow region, was involved in packaging large batches of drugs. Her accomplice was responsible for their transportation and coordinated the actions of other participants who created hiding places for storing drugs in the territories of Kostroma and Ivanovo.

During the hearings, the citizen of Kyrgyzstan fully admitted her guilt, expressed remorse, and actively cooperated with the investigation, while the citizen of Tajikistan refused to acknowledge his guilt.

The court took mitigating circumstances into account and sentenced the woman to seven years and six months of imprisonment in a general regime colony, while the man was sentenced to 11 years in a strict regime correctional facility.

The sentence has not yet entered into legal force and may be appealed.
