A dropper was detained in the Chui region as part of an investigation into an internet fraud case.
According to the regional police department, on March 8, a resident born in 1987 reported to the police that unknown individuals convinced him via WhatsApp to transfer money for 25.5 tons of corn, which did not actually exist.
As a result, the man transferred 612 thousand soms to the bank cards of two people, but the goods were never provided to him.
Based on this fact, a criminal case was initiated under Article 209-1 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. During operational activities, the identity of one of the cardholders was established — a man born in 1988, who was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
The investigation revealed that the suspect had provided third parties with the details of his bank cards, thereby granting them access to his financial information.
Currently, work continues to identify other possible accomplices in the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
The Chui regional police department reminds that the transfer of SIM cards, bank cards, and other electronic means to third parties is a criminal offense.
