Recently, the State Tax Service under the government of the country published video materials of the investigation titled "Oil for Themselves: How They Ruined Kyrgyzneftegaz." These materials contain information about possible illegal actions by officials of the company.
According to the provided information, employees of OJSC "Kyrgyzneftegaz," abusing their position, together with affiliated companies, developed illegal schemes for the sale and distribution of fuel and lubricants.
The MIA reported that during the investigation, it was established that the officials were aware that OJSC "Kyrgyzneftegaz" is a strategically important entity and is fully owned by the state; however, they acted contrary to their duties, which included ensuring the effective operation of the company in the interests of the people and the state.
"Against the backdrop of rising prices for fuel and lubricants in the country, instead of taking measures to stabilize the situation, they entered into a preliminary conspiracy with unidentified representatives of state bodies controlling this area. This led to the creation of conditions conducive to the illegal activities of several affiliated companies, allowing them to profit illegally, including through tax evasion and other mandatory payments," the MIA's release stated.
In this case, the Investigative Service of the MIA has opened a criminal case under Article 336 ("Corruption") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Currently, with the involvement of specialists from the State Tax Service, investigative actions are being conducted aimed at fully and objectively clarifying the circumstances of the case, as well as identifying and holding accountable the guilty parties," the MIA added.
