Recall that Taichabarov was detained in November of last year and charged under the article of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic concerning the creation or participation in an organized criminal group.
It is worth noting that during the upcoming elections to the Jogorku Kenesh in 2025, the Central Election Commission denied him registration as a candidate based on information regarding his possible connections with criminal structures.
According to data from the Main Directorate for the Fight Against Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, during the interrogation, Taichabarov confirmed that the photo taken in 2021 at Blonder Pub indeed shows him alongside the well-known criminal authority Kamchi Kolbaev, who has since passed away.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs also stated that the former official had close ties to the criminal world, and therefore was placed on operational record as a person associated with an organized criminal group.
Kudret Taichabarov took the position of head of the Bishkek Free Economic Zone in 2020, following a change of power in the country, and on March 20, 2024, he was appointed head of the Tourism Development Support Fund.
