Mother of 4 children forgave her husband twice after beatings; during the third incident, her eardrum ruptured — she shared the details.
According to Urmatai, the incident that led her to contact law enforcement occurred on January 12, 2026. The woman claims that her husband inflicted injuries on her that caused her to lose the integrity of her eardrum and expelled her from their home with four children.
“In 2024, he already broke my jaw, but I forgave him then. In December 2025, he beat me again, and I couldn't leave the house for a week. Now my ear is damaged. The court sentenced him to only 48 hours of community service, and I disagree with this decision. I filed an appeal with the regional court, but the verdict remained the same. Currently, the process is dragging on, and my husband continues to live his normal life,” Urmatai shared.
The press service of the Batken region's Internal Affairs Department confirmed that Urmatai contacted the Kyzyl-Kiy City Police Department on January 13, 2026. The incident was recorded in the electronic journal as a case of domestic violence, and she was issued a protection order.
As a result of the investigation, law enforcement decided to refuse to initiate a criminal case due to the absence of a crime. However, signs of an administrative offense were found, and a protocol was drawn up against 33-year-old B.Y. under Article 70 (“Domestic Violence”) of the Code of Offenses, and the case materials were sent to court.
The Kyzyl-Kiy City Court ruled to impose 48 hours of community service on the man.
The police added that Urmatai's family is currently on preventive registration and under the supervision of the relevant services. According to the department, the requirements of the protection order have not been violated.
