This information was confirmed by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Osh region. The report of the fire was received by the duty officer on the night of March 5, 2026. At 02:00, the first unit of the fire and rescue service from the Uzgen district was dispatched to the scene. At 02:24, an additional unit was sent for support. A total of two pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
The fire was completely extinguished by 03:50. As a result of the tragedy, the children born in 2018, 2020, 2021, and 2023 lost their lives. The youngest was not yet three years old.
In the morning of March 5, the akim of the Uzgen district, Kanybek Apbasov, and the head of the Karool rural administration, Ruslan Alaychiev, arrived at the scene. The preliminary version of the cause of the fire points to a short circuit in the electrical wiring.
Ruslan Alaychiev, the head of the rural administration, told Turmush in a comment that at the time of the tragedy, the children were under the care of their grandmother. “She was sleeping in one room, while the children were in another. The fire started around 2–3 a.m. Three of the deceased are siblings, their parents are currently working abroad and have already left for their homeland. The fourth child is their cousin; his mother worked in Maiyloo-Suu,” Alaychiev explained.
The funerals of the tragically departed children are scheduled for the afternoon.
