
The military prosecutor's office has initiated an investigation into a criminal case related to corruption in the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) of Kyrgyzstan. Under suspicion is J.E.Z., the former head of the GKNB department in Bishkek, who is alleged to have created a corruption group consisting of both agency employees and civilians for personal enrichment. This information was announced by the press service of the GKNB KR.
As a result of investigative actions initiated under Article 336 Part 1 "Corruption" of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan, five suspects were detained. The court has decided to arrest them, and they have been placed in the temporary detention facilities of the Bishkek City Police Department and SIZO-1.
Additionally, the GKNB's internal security service conducted an internal investigation, during which the following measures were taken:
- Dismissal of six employees;
- Six employees were removed from their positions and transferred to the GKNB's disposal;
- One candidate for service in the GKNB was excluded;
- Disciplinary actions were imposed on eight employees.
The press service also reported that work is ongoing to identify other individuals involved in this crime.
