Corruption in the GKNB. 6 National Security Employees Dismissed, 5 Detained
According to information provided by the press service of the SCNS on February 27, among the suspects is Eldar Jakypbekov, who previously held the position of head of the SCNS in Bishkek. He is accused of organizing a corruption group consisting of both SCNS employees and civilians, with the aim of personal enrichment.
As a result of the investigation under Article 336, Part 1 ("Corruption") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, five individuals have been detained and are currently in custody at the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Police Department and in pre-trial detention center No. 1.
The internal security service also conducted an internal investigation, which led to the following measures:
- dismissal of six employees from national security agencies;
- removal from positions and transfer of another six employees to the SCNS;
- exclusion of one candidate from the list of applicants for service in the SCNS;
- imposition of disciplinary sanctions on eight employees.
The press service of the SCNS reported that work to identify other possible participants in the criminal activity is ongoing.
