Surabaldiyeva reported that she was approached by the mother of the accused, who expressed concern about the progress of the investigation. She noted that despite the ongoing investigative actions, information for the defense is not being provided.
The deputy also mentioned that various opinions are actively discussed in society, including the notion that those accused of large-scale embezzlement may remain at large, while those without support find themselves in a difficult situation. In this regard, she requested more information about the case and clarification of the current situation.
In response to this statement, Deputy Attorney General Umutkan Konkubaeva stated that the deputy would be provided with the necessary information regarding the case. She emphasized that the principle of confidentiality is maintained during the investigation, which should be taken into account.
Konkubaeva added that the prosecutor's office would consider the points raised by the deputy and continue to oversee the investigation. The name of the former mayor in question was not mentioned by the deputy. It is worth recalling that the Oktyabrsky District Court previously sentenced Maksat Nusuvaliyev, the former mayor of Tokmok, to 13 years in prison.
