In Shchuchinsk, located in Kazakhstan, a tragedy occurred at the 'Center of Plov' cafe, where seven people died as a result of an explosion. This was reported by the Department of Emergency Situations of the Akmolinsk region.
According to the agency, a "gas-air mixture explosion followed by a fire" occurred on the evening of February 26 at the cafe, which was attached to a five-story residential building.

“Immediately after receiving the notification about the incident, the forces and resources of the Emergency Situations Department of the Akmolinsk region arrived at the scene within five minutes. Firefighters carried eight gas cylinders out of the burning building and managed to save more than 10 people. According to preliminary data, about 20 people were injured, six of whom died,” the official statement said. Later, the number of victims increased to seven.

By midnight, the fire was completely extinguished. Currently, rescuers continue to clear the rubble. The causes and circumstances of the tragedy are being established.
