In the Talas Region, nearly half a billion soms were recovered in corruption cases in 2025
According to him, in 2025, the prosecutor's office and law enforcement agencies of the Talas region initiated a total of 86 criminal cases related to corruption and associated official crimes. This figure is twice as high as the data for 2024. Taking into account previously initiated cases and materials received from other agencies, a total of 112 (72) criminal cases were under investigation by law enforcement agencies.
As a result of the investigation, 50 (34) criminal cases were sent for trial, and proceedings on 40 (24) cases were terminated.
The total amount of material damage caused to the state within the framework of these criminal cases amounted to 488,850,605 (52,222,921) soms. Of this amount, 465,206,900 (51,957,461) soms were recovered, which is 95.1% of the established damage amount.
According to the senior prosecutor of the Talas region prosecutor's office, the analysis shows that in 2025, both the total amount of damage caused to the state and the indicators of its compensation significantly increased. In particular, the amount of recovered funds increased by 413,249,439 soms. This, according to Justice Colonel Kurmanbekov, indicates the effectiveness of the measures taken by law enforcement agencies and the strengthening of the fight against corruption crimes. The work to protect state interests and fully compensate for the damage caused to the budget continues as planned.
He reminded that according to the legislation "On Counteracting Corruption," the prosecutor's office heads coordination meetings on issues of combating corruption and supervises the precise and uniform implementation of laws by all law enforcement agencies. These activities are conducted based on the instructions of the Attorney General and the regional prosecutor.
According to Kurmanbekov, the main tasks of the prosecutor's office are to prevent manifestations of corruption, timely detection, suppression, and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable under the law. Special attention is paid to cases of illegal use of budget funds, abuse of official position, and exceeding official powers.
“One of the priority areas remains the accurate and complete determination of the material damage caused to the state, as well as taking effective measures for its recovery. For this purpose, special emphasis is placed on establishing the extent of damage, imposing seizures on the property of suspects, filing civil lawsuits, and ensuring the enforcement of court decisions. Individuals guilty of committing corruption crimes are necessarily held accountable, and strict and uncompromising measures are applied to them. The prosecutor's office intends to further strengthen the fight against corruption crimes, protect the interests of the state and society, and continue work on the full recovery of damages caused to the budget,” reported the senior prosecutor of the Talas region prosecutor's office.
