According to information received by the police on April 2, 2021, a citizen from the capital reported that from November 10, 2020, to April 15, 2021, he had handed over 1 million 50 thousand soms to an unknown individual who promised to help him free his son, who had been arrested in Moscow.
This case was registered under Article 204 ("Fraud") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic (in its old version).
On February 20, 2026, law enforcement officers detained the suspect, a man born in 1985 named I.E. He was placed in a temporary detention facility.
During the investigation, possible connections of the detainee to other similar crimes are being established.
The investigation is ongoing.
