As a result of the operation "Illegal," conducted from February 17 to 19, nine foreign citizens were held administratively liable in the Batken region. This was reported by the regional internal affairs department.

According to the police information, during the raid, foreigners engaged in labor activities were checked. They were informed about the rules of stay in Kyrgyzstan and the requirements of migration legislation. In addition, they received appropriate warnings.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration, in 2026, there will be 52,000 job openings available for foreign migrants in Kyrgyzstan. Initially, in 2025, 25,000 quotas were planned, but this figure was increased to 42,000.

Among the countries applying for labor quotas in Kyrgyzstan, the greatest interest is shown by China, India, Turkey, and Pakistan.

Since 2022, the distribution of labor quotas has been transferred to the competence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
