In Bishkek, police officers detained two women suspected of fraudulent activities involving jewelry, with the total damage amounting to 36 million soms. This was reported by the press service of the Sverdlov District Department of Internal Affairs.
The incident occurred on December 13, 2025, when a woman named T.A. approached the police. She stated that two women, whom she barely knew, introduced themselves as "Ch." and "N.", and from November 18 to December 2, they received jewelry for sale in one of the shopping centers. However, later these items were sold to a pawn shop at a significantly reduced price, and the proceeds were never returned to the owner.
In connection with this incident, a criminal case was initiated under Article 209 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During operational activities, the suspects were detained: Sh.Ch., born in 1985, and S.N., born in 1988. Both women have been placed in a temporary detention facility.
The investigation is ongoing.
