According to media reports, the maximum penalties affect almost all the defendants, except for two brothers, Islomov, and their father, who assisted the perpetrators of the terrorist act by fleeing in a Renault Symbol car, as well as Alisher Kasimov, who provided accommodation for the terrorists. For them, the prosecutor requested 19 years and 11 months and 22 years and 10 months of imprisonment, respectively.
Additionally, the prosecution insists on the revocation of Russian citizenship for those defendants who acquired it during their lifetime.
The trial, which has become one of the most high-profile cases, began on August 4, 2025. There are 19 people in the dock, of whom 13 are accused of direct involvement in the terrorist act, while the others are charged with aiding terrorist activities, illegal arms trafficking, and training for terrorism.
The investigation established that the direct perpetrators of the attack are Shamsidin Fariduni, Dalerjon Mirzoev, Saidakram Rachabalizoda, and Muhammadsobir Faizov, some of whom have admitted their guilt.
According to the case, about 70 out of 149 victims died as a result of the fire, without having gunshot or other wounds. The main causes of death were thermal inhalation injury and carbon monoxide poisoning.
Recall that the terrorist attack occurred on March 22, 2024, at the suburban "Krokus City Hall," where thousands of people gathered for a concert. The investigation claims that at 19:00, four terrorists—Muhammadsobir Faizov, Dalerjon Mirzoev, Shamsidin Fariduni, and Saidakram Rachabalizoda—burst into the building, causing a massacre and setting it on fire. As a result of the attack, 145 people were killed.
The attackers were detained in the Bryansk region, 100 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. All of them are charged under the article "Terrorist Act" of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, facing prison sentences ranging from 25 years to life imprisonment.
We note that responsibility for the terrorist attack at "Krokus City Hall" was claimed by the group "Islamic State." Later, the FSB detained 11 people, most of whom turned out to be citizens of Tajikistan.
