
The operation was carried out by employees of the Operational-Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan in collaboration with the State Security Service and the Customs Committee. According to the investigation materials, the smuggling channel operated in the Buston district of the Andijan region.
During the extraction of the drugs, four men were detained while attempting to retrieve 9.447 kilograms of hashish from a buried stash. These narcotic substances were intended for subsequent transportation.

The investigation also revealed that the operation was managed from abroad. One of the leaders in Uzbekistan was acting under the guidance of a citizen of Kyrgyzstan.
The couriers received the coordinates of the stash and were directed to distribute the drugs for sale in various areas of the region.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, more than 94,470 single doses were prevented from entering the consumer market. The seized hashish has been included in the case materials as physical evidence.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the detainees under part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, concerning the illegal sale of drugs in large quantities. The maximum penalty under this article is imprisonment for a term of 10 to 20 years.
