Beating of an Eighth Grader in Balakchy: Police Identified Three Suspects
Recently, information appeared on social media that a girl born in 2009 was subjected to violence by her peers at one of the schools in Balykchy. The posts raised the issue of the need for intervention by the Ministry of Education and authorities.
The Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Kul region confirmed that the incident occurred in December, and active investigative actions are currently underway.
According to law enforcement, on December 27, 2025, a local resident, A.Sh., born in 1997, appealed to the Balykchy City Police Department. In her statement, she indicated that on December 25, 2025, around noon, her younger sister, born in 2009, was beaten by her classmates at the general education school, resulting in bodily injuries.
The statement has been registered, and a preliminary investigation has been initiated. A forensic medical examination has been appointed to determine the nature of the injuries sustained by the schoolgirl. According to its results, the girl was found to have sustained minor bodily injuries that did not affect her health.
Based on this incident, a criminal case was initiated on January 24, 2026, under Article 280 ("Hooliganism") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the investigation, three minor suspects, born in 2010, were identified, all residing in Balykchy. The girls were questioned in the presence of their parents.
Investigative actions are ongoing, and information about the progress of the investigation is planned to be provided later.
