In the Batken region, a driver was detained for not complying with the inspectors' demands.
According to the press secretary of the Batken regional road safety department, Bektemir Mamytov, the check began when inspectors stopped a vehicle driven by a person in a state of intoxication. However, the driver ignored the lawful demands of the officers and attempted to flee.
“Soon, the vehicle was stopped, and a check was conducted. It was found that the driver did not have a driver's license, and there was a smell of alcohol coming from him. The man was taken to the narcological department but refused to undergo a sobriety test,” he added.
Based on this incident, the driver will be subject to part 2 of article 193 of the KR Code on Offenses, which pertains to driving a vehicle while intoxicated or transferring control to a person not authorized to drive.
According to this legislation, refusal to undergo testing results in an administrative arrest for three days, and if the driver was not authorized to drive, the arrest period is five days,” the press secretary noted.
