A Kyrgyzstani detained in the USA, accused of a car accident with four fatalities in Indiana

Beckjan Bejshekeev, a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, has been detained in Indiana on suspicion of involvement in an accident that claimed the lives of four people. The incident occurred on February 3, when a truck he was driving allegedly crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a van, according to police. This was reported by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

As a result of the tragedy, members of the Aiker family lost their lives: 50-year-old Henry Aiker, his 25-year-old son Menno, 19-year-old Paul, and 23-year-old Simon Jiro.

According to information from U.S. authorities, Bejshekeev entered the country through the CBP One app and obtained a commercial driver's license (CDL) from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. His detention was carried out by Indiana police in conjunction with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under the 287(g) program.

Currently, Bejshekeev is in ICE custody in Fort Wayne and is awaiting the results of his immigration proceedings. U.S. officials also emphasize that the tragedy could have been avoided under different conditions for obtaining driver's documentation.
