A student had her bag with 300,000 soms and $2,000 stolen right at the university. A suspect has been detained

In Bishkek, at one of the universities, a theft occurred. A student who contacted the police reported that on December 30, 2025, her bag was stolen from a classroom on Chingiz Aitmatov Avenue.

Inside were 300,000 soms, $2,000, and an iPhone 15.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 205 "Theft" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The law enforcement agencies have detained a suspect, identified as U. E., born in 1993. He is currently being held in a temporary detention facility.

The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement is checking the suspect's possible involvement in other similar crimes.
