A girl's bag containing 300,000 soms and $2,000 was stolen from a university classroom. A suspect has been detained.

The press service of the Internal Affairs Department of the First May District of Bishkek reported the detention of a person suspected of theft.

On December 30, 2025, a young woman contacted law enforcement, stating that on the same day her bag was stolen from a classroom at one of the universities on Ch.Aitmatov Avenue. Inside were 300,000 soms, 2,000 dollars, and an iPhone 15.

A criminal case was initiated regarding this incident under Article 205 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Operational staff detained the suspect, identified as U.E., born in 1993, who is currently placed in a temporary detention facility.

Currently, the possible involvement of the detainee in other similar offenses is being investigated. Investigative actions are ongoing.
