After the Forced Avalanche Descent, the Bishkek - Osh Route is Reopened
According to information from the State Enterprise "Kyrgyzavtozhol," six shots were fired between 15:50 and 16:05, resulting in the descent of approximately 12,250 cubic meters of snow, temporarily closing half of the roadway.
Special equipment from road service No. 9 was used to eliminate the consequences. By 16:30, traffic was fully restored in both directions.
The State Enterprise "Kyrgyzavtozhol" emphasized that round-the-clock monitoring is conducted on sections of the road prone to avalanches. In case of deteriorating weather conditions, temporary restrictions on vehicle movement may be introduced.
