The State Committee for National Security detained a prison employee and a police officer

The employee of colony No. 16 and a police officer from the Pervomaisky district of Bishkek have become suspects in fraudulent activities, according to information provided by the press center of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).

According to the agency, they promised to help resolve the issue of granting clemency to one of the prisoners.

“By gaining the trust of the prisoner in correctional facility No. 1, they received a significant sum of money from December 2024 to April 2025 for resolving the clemency issue; however, the prisoner was subsequently denied clemency,” the press service of the GKNB reported.

In connection with this incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 209 “Fraud” of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the detainees have been placed in a temporary detention facility.
