Recently, there has been a rise in fraudulent schemes related to the creation of financial pyramids in the messaging apps Telegram and WhatsApp, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on February 3.

How scammers deceive citizens:

- Use of well-known brands.

Criminals often disguise themselves as well-known companies, banks, or government institutions, creating a false impression of the legitimacy of their activities.

- Promises of easy profits.

Scammers offer investments in various "projects," guaranteeing high returns with no effort required.

- Initial payouts to build trust.

After investing a small amount, they may return your money 1-2 times under the pretext of "profits." Keep in mind that this is your own money or the funds of other victims!

- Blocking and disappearance.

As soon as you decide to invest more, the scammers promptly block you and remove you from groups, resulting in the loss of your funds.

How to protect yourself?

- Do not trust promises of quick and high profits.

If the income significantly exceeds bank rates, it is a clear sign of fraud.

- Check for licenses.

Investment activities should only be conducted with a license from the National Bank or other authorized bodies.

- Be cautious with anonymity in messaging apps.

If a company has no official office and communicates solely through messaging apps, it is better to stay away from them.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs strongly urges citizens to report such cases to the police by dialing the short number 102.
