The Ministry of Internal Affairs detained extortionists who demanded 7 million soms from a man under the pretext of debts of his deceased son.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a citizen named J.Z. approached the police for help. He reported that unknown individuals, introducing themselves as "Hamza" and "Ali," were threatening him with physical harm, demanding 7 million soms under the pretext of debts owed by his deceased son.
Based on this information, the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated a criminal case, qualifying the actions of the offenders under Article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic (extortion).
During further activities, a third participant in the scheme was identified and detained — the organizer of the crime, J.A., born in 1986. A search was conducted at her residence.
It turned out that J.A. had known the victim for many years and possessed information about his property and family situation. Using the tragedy of her son's death, she organized the extortion.
A vehicle used by the detainees was also seized and placed in a tow lot.
The suspects were placed in the temporary detention facility of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Bishkek.
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing to clarify all the circumstances of the case, and the possible connection of the detainees to other similar crimes is being checked.
The investigation continues.
