According to information provided by the press service of the Internal Affairs Department of the Osh region, the incident occurred on January 18, 2026, when a woman named N.Sh., born in 1971, approached the Kara-Suu District Internal Affairs Department. She reported that three strangers, appearing to be law enforcement representatives, forcibly placed her husband in a car and claimed that he allegedly had narcotic substances.
After that, the criminals demanded 50,000 soms, threatening that otherwise her husband would be held criminally liable and "sent" to prison.
The fact of extortion was registered, and a preliminary investigation was initiated.
Based on the collected materials, a criminal case was opened under Article 208 ("Extortion") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Operational actions are being carried out by the internal security service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, employees of the Osh region, and the Kara-Suu District Internal Affairs Department.
During the operational-search activities, the suspects were detained while receiving part of the amount they were extorting. Among those detained were E.M., born in 2002, and T.S., born in 2003, who are currently in custody. The investigation also identified the third accomplice — T. uulu M., born in 1997, who was also arrested and placed in a temporary detention facility.
Currently, operational and investigative actions are ongoing to determine the possible involvement of the detainees in other crimes.
