A citizen named U.J. has approached the capital's internal affairs department, requesting action against an unknown perpetrator.
According to the information provided by the press service, in his statement, the applicant reported that an unidentified person gained his trust via the WhatsApp messenger, posing as an employee of the State Committee for National Security. Under the pretext of assisting in the release of a person from a detention center, the fraudster managed to deceive him and stole 17,000 US dollars.
Based on this information, the Investigative Service of the Lenin District Internal Affairs Department initiated a criminal case under Article 209 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning fraud.
As a result of operational measures, the Main Internal Affairs Department detained the suspect — 35-year-old A.T., who had previously had legal issues and had been on international wanted list since 2022. He was placed in a temporary detention facility in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Currently, the investigation is ongoing to establish the possible involvement of the detainee in other similar crimes.
