A person suspected of fraud under the guise of an employee of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) was detained in Bishkek. This was reported by the press service of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate (MIAD) of the capital.
According to information received by the police on December 19, 2025, one citizen reported that a certain criminal contacted him via WhatsApp, posing as an SCNS employee. He promised to help release a person from a detention center, after which, having gained the victim's trust, he received 17 thousand dollars.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident under Article 209 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic (Fraud).
As a result of operational actions, a citizen born in 1988 was detained, who already had multiple convictions and had been on the international wanted list since 2022. He is currently placed in a temporary detention facility.
Law enforcement agencies continue to investigate his possible involvement in other similar crimes. Investigative activities are actively ongoing.
The MIAD of Bishkek strongly advises citizens to be cautious and not to trust individuals who present themselves as employees of government agencies and demand money over the phone or through messengers.
