Colonel of the National Security Committee in Reserve Serik Abiev Has Passed Away

On January 27, Colonel of the reserve Serik Kekенович Abiev passed away at the age of 54. This information was published by the press service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (GKNB KR).

Serik Abiev was born in 1972 and graduated in 1995 from the Kyrgyz State National University named after J. Balasagyn, receiving a diploma in "Jurisprudence".

He began his career in the national security agencies in November 1995 and held many responsible positions during his service:

- from 1995 to 2001, he worked in the Investigative Department of GKNB KR;

- from 2001 to 2003 — in the GKNB KR Department for the Naryn Region;

- from 2003 to 2006 — again in the Investigative Department of GKNB KR;

- from 2012 to 2014, he served as Assistant to the Chairman of GKNB KR;

- from 2014 to 2017, he worked in the Anti-Terrorism Center of GKNB KR;

- from 2017 to 2022 — in the Main Investigative Department of GKNB KR;

- from 2022 to 2024 — at the Academy of GKNB KR;

- from 2024 to 2025 — Deputy Head of the SPO of GKNB KR.

For his achievements in service, Serik Abiev was awarded numerous departmental awards and honors, including a Certificate of Honor from the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Colleagues and fellow officers remember him as an outstanding leader and a devoted officer with a strong sense of responsibility. He raised more than one generation of employees, teaching them honesty, fairness, respect for traditions, and patriotism.

GKNB noted: "Serik Abiev was a kind and responsive person, a loyal friend, and a reliable comrade. His bright memory will forever remain in the hearts of colleagues and all who knew him." The leadership, veterans, and staff of GKNB express their sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
