In Issyk-Kul, T.K.A., the former head of the temporary detention facility of the Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Kul region, has been detained on charges of extortion and torture. This became known thanks to information from the State Committee for National Security, which established that certain employees of the Internal Affairs Department used violence against citizen M.K. for the purpose of extortion. Police Major T.K.A., using his official position, threatened the victim with physical harm and promised comfortable conditions in the detention facility if his demands for the transfer of money were met. However, after M.K. refused to give money, the former head of the detention facility and his subordinates inflicted bodily harm on him. Upon learning of the incident, T.K.A. submitted a resignation from the internal affairs bodies.
As a result of the investigation, T.K.A. was detained and placed in the detention facility of the City Department of Internal Affairs of Karakol.
The investigation is currently ongoing, during which the involvement of other employees of the Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Kul region in this incident is being checked.
