On January 25, 2026, a serious incident occurred on the 141st kilometer of the Bishkek–Osh highway: a truck transporting fuel and lubricants overturned and caught fire. This was reported by the press service of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Chui region. As a result of the tragedy, the driver and his passenger died on the spot. A report of the fire was received by the duty unit of the Jayil District Police Department around 11:35 from the 112 service, after which an investigative operational group was dispatched to the scene.
According to preliminary data, the MAN truck belonged to O.K., born in 1981, who was engaged in private transportation of petroleum products. On January 23, he accepted an order for the delivery of AI-92 gasoline from one of the local limited liability companies and hired driver K.A., born in 1989. On the day of the tragedy, around 11:20, the driver was heading towards Osh, transporting 28 tons of petroleum products, and the owner of the truck was also in the cabin.
While driving, the truck's front left tire burst, causing it to veer into oncoming traffic and overturn. After that, a fire broke out, and the vehicle was completely consumed by flames. The bodies of the deceased were sent to the morgue, all necessary examinations were appointed, and the investigation is ongoing.
According to the information, no harm was caused to the environment, as no leakage of petroleum products was recorded — all fuel and lubricants burned in the fire.
