The Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Chui Region provided information about a tragic incident that occurred in Suusamyr, where a fuel truck overturned, resulting in the death of two people. The accident took place on January 25, 2026, at 11:35, when a report was received at the duty station of the Jayil District about a fire in a cargo vehicle on the 141st kilometer of the Bishkek – Osh highway.
A forensic investigative group was dispatched to the scene to conduct an investigation.
During the investigation, it was found that the owner of the MAN truck is O.K., born in 1981, who is engaged in the private transportation of petroleum products.
According to the police, on January 23, 2026, O.K. signed a contract for the transportation of fuel and lubricants (AI-92 gasoline) with one of the local limited liability companies engaged in oil refining. K.A., born in 1989, was hired as the driver.
On the day of the incident, around 11:20, K.A., driving the truck, was heading south, transporting 28 tons of petroleum products to the city of Osh. The owner of the vehicle, O.K., was also in the cabin.
During the drive, the front left wheel broke, leading to a loss of control, crossing into the oncoming lane, and overturning the vehicle. After that, a fire broke out, resulting in the complete destruction of the vehicle. Unfortunately, both the driver and the passenger died at the scene of the accident," the police reported.
The bodies of the deceased were sent to the morgue of the Jayil District Hospital, where necessary examinations have been scheduled. The investigation is ongoing.
It was also established that the ecological environment was not harmed, and no leakage of petroleum products was recorded — all fuel and lubricants burned at the site of the incident.
The Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Chui Region strongly urges drivers to thoroughly check the technical condition of their vehicles before long trips.
