On January 8, a woman named E.B. contacted the Lenin District Internal Affairs Department, reporting that during her trip on route taxi No. 161, her wallet containing 595,000 soms, 400 dollars, and a set of jewelry worth 100,000 soms was stolen from her bag.
The investigative department initiated a criminal case under Article 205 "Theft" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As a result of operational activities at the "Sary-Ozon" market, two citizens — Sh.M. and Zh.A., born in 1985, who had previous convictions for serious crimes, were detained. The men were taken to the Lenin Internal Affairs Department and placed in a temporary detention facility, where the court determined a preventive measure in the form of arrest in pre-trial detention center No. 1.
During the inspection of the Daewoo Nexia car, in which the detainees were traveling, police discovered the stolen jewelry.
The investigation established that on the morning of January 8, the suspects boarded route taxi No. 161 heading to the "Dordoy" market. Experienced pickpockets noticed that one of the passengers was likely working at the market and stole money and valuables from her. After that, they left by taxi, paying for the ride with one thousand soms from the stolen funds.
