He noted that there are 2,660 drivers working in public transport in our city.
According to Ömürzakov, various situations occur on the roads where one can encounter both responsible and irresponsible drivers. In 2025, there were 18 general meetings involving the heads of the Patrol Police and the State Traffic Safety Department, which were dedicated to compliance with traffic rules.
“It is important to understand that bus drivers are not the only participants in road traffic. We continue to conduct joint analyses with the Patrol Police, which show that in 70% of accidents involving buses, it is indeed other drivers, such as car drivers, who are at fault,” he added.
The chief engineer also noted that in 30% of cases when accidents occur, bus drivers may lose their bonuses. A commission determines the degree of their fault, and if the bus requires repairs, the driver will have to cover the costs out of their own pocket. If they do not have enough funds, the expenses are deducted from their salary, after which the bus is restored.
