The amount of extortion was 350,000 soms
In Bishkek, employees of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) detained suspects in an extortion case, as reported by the agency's press service.
On January 17, 2026, as a result of joint operational actions by the GKNB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD), a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, T.A., and a police lieutenant, A.E.B., working in the Oktobrskiy district, were detained. The suspects extorted 350,000 soms from a citizen, Ch.M., who became the complainant in the case, classified under paragraph 2 of part 2 of article 208 (extortion) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the investigation materials, T.A. and E.A. blackmailed Ch.M., accusing him of allegedly committing a crime related to the rape of T.A. As a result, they demanded money to achieve a favorable resolution of the issue.
The Lenin District Court ordered the detention of E.A. and T.A. in the GKNB detention center.
