"Whose iPhone?" Thieves Detained in Bishkek

The detainees were involved in mobile device thefts

In Bishkek, the police arrested a group of suspects in robbery. This became known from representatives of the Internal Affairs Department of the Pervomaisky District.

According to information, on January 12, 2026, a citizen named M.S. reported a crime to the Internal Affairs Department. He stated that around 02:00 on M. Gorky Street, unknown individuals, using physical force, took his mobile phone, an iPhone 13 Pro Max, valued at 60,000 soms, and fled the scene.

A criminal case was initiated regarding this incident under Article 206 (robbery) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

As a result of operational activities conducted by the Internal Affairs Department staff, the suspects were identified and detained: S.E. (born in 2006), S.B. (born in 2008), and Ch.A. (born in 2010).

After their detention, the young individuals were taken to the Investigative Service and placed in the pre-trial detention center (SIZO-1) by a decision of the Pervomaisky District Court.

It was established that the criminals used a car with fake license plates to track lonely citizens. Under the pretext of asking to make a phone call, they used physical force to seize mobile phones.

During the investigative actions, four mobile phones, previously belonging to other crimes, were seized, which are now considered material evidence.

Currently, law enforcement agencies continue to investigate the possible connection of the detainees with other similar crimes.

Citizens who have become victims of these individuals or possess information can report to the following numbers:
