Stand-up Comedians Detained in Bishkek

In Bishkek, stand-up comedians were detained after a video mocking the Kyrgyz language appeared on social media. This clip sparked widespread public resonance and discussion.

According to the Main Department of Internal Affairs (MDIA) of the capital, this incident was registered in the automated information system (AIS) of the Unified Information System (UIS). In connection with this, a preliminary investigation has been initiated.

Employees of the Extremism and Drug Trafficking Control Service (EDTCS) of the MDIA and the State National Security Committee (SNSC) of Kyrgyzstan conducted operational activities, during which the identities of those who appeared in the video were established. They turned out to be citizens: T.K. (born in 1991), S.S. (born in 1991), and M.M. (born in 1991). All three were detained and handed over to the Investigative Service of the MDIA.

Currently, examinations are being conducted for a legal assessment of their actions, as well as other verification activities. Based on the results obtained, a decision will be made in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The MDIA of the capital calls on citizens to comply with the laws and respect the state language, as well as adhere to the norms of public morality and ethics.
