An earthquake has been registered in the Batken region.

According to information published by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan, an earthquake with a magnitude of up to 2.5 occurred in the country.

As reported by the Institute of Seismology of the Kyrgyz Republic, a seismic tremor was registered on January 17 at 19:11, with a magnitude of 3 at the epicenter.

The earthquake was felt in the village of Sovet, located in the Kadamjai district of the Batken region, where its strength reached 2.5. The epicenter was located 5 km southwest of this village, 18 km east of the village of Kyzyl-Korgon, and 42 km northeast of the city of Batken.

According to preliminary data, there were no casualties or damage reported as a result of the earthquake.
