The actor and rector of the Moscow Art Theater School Igor Zolotovitsky has passed away.

According to information published on the MХAT website, the death of Igor Zolotovitsky, who suffered from stomach cancer, was the result of an oncological disease.

Zolotovitsky became famous for his roles in a number of Soviet and Russian films, including "Non-professionals" (1985) directed by Sergey Bodrov Sr., "Dark Nights in Sochi" by Vasily Pichul (1989), "Taxi Blues" by Pavel Lungin (1990) with Pyotr Mamonov, and the comedy "Faster than Rabbits" with the theater "Quartet I" (2013). In addition, he appeared in popular series such as "Turkish March 2," "Kamenskaya 3," "A Brief Course in a Happy Life," and others.

Since 1989, Zolotovitsky taught at the MХAT School-Studio, and since 2013 he held the position of rector.
