More than 135 kilograms of drugs seized during a special operation - State Drug Control Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic
According to information received from law enforcement, the group consisted of citizens of Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan. As a result of the operation, seven individuals were detained, and one participant has been placed on an international wanted list.
The investigation suggests that the detainees were involved in the smuggling and distribution of significant volumes of drugs produced in Afghanistan, using transit routes through Kyrgyzstan.
During searches of the homes and vehicles of the detainees, as well as in hidden locations, 136 kilograms and 855 grams of drugs were found and seized, including over 20 kilograms of opium and more than 116 kilograms of hashish.
In addition, narcotics police seized a substantial amount of cash in dollars, soms, Uzbek soms, and rubles. Six vehicles have also been transferred to state possession.
Currently, the investigation is handling several criminal cases initiated under Articles 262 ("Creation of a criminal community or participation in it"), 282 ("Illegal production of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their analogs for the purpose of sale"), 285 ("Smuggling of items subject to special rules for movement across the customs border of the Kyrgyz Republic"), and 378 ("Illegal crossing of the state border of the Kyrgyz Republic") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
