In Kyrgyzstan, transplantation is continuing to develop: another free kidney transplant was performed at the National Center for Organ and Tissue Transplantation.
Today, March 26, 2026, another kidney transplant was successfully performed at the National Center for the Protection of Motherhood and Childhood (NCOMC) for a 29-year-old patient. The operation was carried out on a voluntary basis.
The Deputy Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan, Bakyt Kadyraliev, familiarized himself with the operation process and the organization of medical assistance.
The patient had been undergoing hemodialysis for a year due to chronic glomerulonephritis, which led to the loss of kidney function. The donor was his biological brother.
Since January 2024, 41 free kidney transplants have been performed at NCOMC funded by the state budget. From 2018 to 2026, a total of 83 kidney transplant operations have been conducted at the center.
The medical center's team continuously accepts patients with chronic kidney diseases and actively develops the field of transplantation in the country.
During the visit, the deputy minister met with a patient who had received a kidney transplant 14 years ago. He is currently leading a full life, working, and actively participating in social life.
This case vividly illustrates that transplantation is not only a complex medical procedure but also a real opportunity for the patient to have a long and quality life.
The record "Kyrgyzstan continues to develop transplantation: another free kidney transplant was performed at NCOMC" was first published on K-News.
